GreenSprouts Academy

Collaboration with FarmLink

Kids playing at the Farm
During the summer, the UCCS Farm hosts Green Sprouts Academy, a youth education program inviting kids from across our community to learn about gardening while enjoying the outdoors. The Green Sprouts Academy aims to teach children ages 5-12 about sustainable gardening practices and introduce them to culturally relevant crops, all while fostering a love for locally produced foods. This summer, our kids will prepare and eat the food we grow and build a garden space for others to visit and enjoy throughout the year.
The Green Sprouts Academy is a collaboration with The Farmlink Project, a national 501(c)(3) food recovery nonprofit that connects farms to food banks. Through this partnership, the UCCS Farm and The Farmlink Project hope to promote a multidisciplinary early education in agriculture, nutrition, and culture.
